NEWCASTLE FALCONS centre Josh Matavesi has signed for Bath Rugby with immediate effect after two and a half seasons with the Kingston Park club.
The 29-year-old Fijian international made 47 appearances during his time with the Falcons, six of those coming this season.
Director of rugby Dean Richards said: "Josh has given great service to the Falcons and we thank him for his contribution as well as wishing him all the best for his time at Bath.
"Moving to the South West will enable Josh and his family to be closer to their roots so they can help take care of his father, and he leaves Newcastle with the thanks and best wishes of everybody at the club."
Matavesi said: "I would like to thank Dean and the Falcons as a club for allowing me to take up this opportunity.
"I have really enjoyed my time with the Falcons, everybody has been incredibly welcoming towards us as a family and I'll take nothing but positive memories from my spell here."
