TWO of Middlesbrough’s most promising talents have signed professional deals, but the club has confirmed the departure of four other young guns.
Among those released is Darlington-born Alex Pattison, 21, who has first team experience from Aitor Karanka’s days in charge, is one of those to be leaving and he is current on loan at Yeovil. Kieran Charlton, Nathan Guru, and Dan Ward are the others.
But Teessiders Stephen Wearne, 18, and Nathan Dale, 19, have penned deals. Wearne is an attacking midfielder from Stockton who has scored five goals in 11 Premier League appearances for the Under-18s.
Dale, from Redcar, has featured regularly for Boro’s Under-23s this season.
Daniel Dodds, Nick Hood, Gabby McGill and Jack Robinson have all been offered new terms and the club has taken up the option to extend the pro contract of goalkeeper Brad James.
