Nick Faldo said after lifting the Seve Trophy last night he was ''pretty confident'' more star names will be present next time.
Britain and Ireland under Faldo's leadership beat Continental Europe 16½-11½ after an 8-2 demolition job in the singles at the Heritage west of Ireland.
Hartlepool's Graeme Storm led the final day charge with a 6&5 demolition of Thomas Bjorn and York's Simon Dyson beat Mikko Ilonen 2&1,
But Open champion Padraig Harrington was among four leading home players missing and Seve Ballesteros' ten-strong side could have shown seven changes. Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson and Bernhard Langer were among those who turned it down.
As a consequence of no Irishmen involved crowds were poor, but Faldo viewed the week as a success in terms of getting to know players ahead of the Ryder Cup next September.
''I am pretty confident players will start to schedule things to include this,'' he said.
''They have the right to make their decision, but this event is growing in stature and with respect to Seve - he is European golf - I think more will want to be here.''
There could be changes ahead in any case. Ballesteros said he was ''working right now'' on new ideas with the European Tour.
The series began in 2000 and since losing then Britain and Ireland have won the last four.
Colin Montgomerie, captain until Faldo took over said: ''I don't think it has been a success this week. There were far too many alternates playing and we need to get the Tour involved and get these players playing.
''We need the top ten from Britain and Ireland and we need the top ten from Europe.''
