SUNDERLAND manager Roy Keane has taken former Manchester City midfielder Kiki Musampa on trial.
Musampa is a free agent after leaving Turkish club Trabzonspor and has been allowed to train with the Black Cats in the hope of earning a deal.
The Holland international had spent 18 months on loan at City from Atletico Madrid but joined Trabzonspor on a three-year deal.
However that contract has now been torn up and Musampa is without a club and looking for a return to the Premier League.
Keane hopes to include the 30-year-old in the reserves' line-up against Liverpool next Tuesday.
Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu, meanwhile, has been called up for the Nigerian squad for a friendly with Mexico later this month.
Etuhu is suspended for Saturday's visit of Blackburn after racking up five yellow cards.
