DURHAM'S chances of winning the County Championship ended this afternoon when Sussex completed a win over already relegated Worcestershire.
The race for the Division One title is now a two horse race between Sussex and Lancashire, despite Durham's victory over Kent on Friday.
If Lancashire fail to overcome Surrey today, the Riversiders will end second in the table which will be their highest ever finish in the Championship.
It has already been a remarkable campaign for Durham, who have won the Friends Provident Trophy and the Pro40 Division Two crown.
