DANNY Wilson's half-time changes paid off on Saturday - but the Hartlepool United boss admits he could easily have made more.
Two substitutions and two tactical alterations improved the performance and one of the players introduced, Joel Porter, grabbed the equaliser against Swindon.
And Wilson admitted: "I could have changed any number of players at half-time - apart from the keeper, who I thought had a blinder.
"We looked a bit leggy and we weren't as sharp as we can be. The wide areas were a concern for us as they were having some success out there.
"It was a concern and that's why we changed it around. We looked a bit sharper and Joel came on and has been very hungry to get a chance.
"The boys up front worked away and worked hard again, but we have a bit squad here with players who can play in a lot of different positions and I don't think we should be afraid to use them.
"You are utilising the squad built up. The attitude of players when they have been out of the team has been terrific and that's what you want as a manager.
"When they do come in, they have to help themselves by putting in good performances.''
Both sides had chances to grab a second and decisive goal and Wilson admitted: "They could have nicked it at the end and it could have been out of our reach by then.
"We were chasing the winning goal and left the back door too far open. It wasn't of the standards we have enjoyed so far this season, but it was a point and a game in which we didn't lose.
"Swindon were very good on the counter attack, but we didn't start the game with the tempo we have done this season so far - we were slow out of the blocks.
"A bit of frustration crept in and they took advantage of it - but they are no mugs, they were promoted with us last season.
"We weren't at our best, but maybe that was down to Swindon.
"We gave them too much space in the first-half in lots of areas.
"What we needed was a bit of individuality and we needed a piece of magic - Joel did that when he came on and worked very hard which delighted me.
"It wasn't to be on this occasions, but it goes to prove that there is nothing between the teams in this league - every game is tight.''
Defender Micky Nelson is expected to be fit for Saturday's trip to Orient. He was forced off on Saturday after going over on his left ankle.
