DANNY Wilson feels good about the future of James Brown.
Hartlepool United's right winger has netted three goals in his last two appearances, a brace in Tuesday's win at Chesterfield on the back of one against Oldham last weekend.
Pools have netted ten times in their last four games in all competitions, with Brown causing problems on the flank and adding goals to his game.
And while his long-term future may be up front, the Tynesider is fast adapting to life on the flank.
"We scored three the other night and it could have been a lot more,'' said Wilson. "James has enjoyed a dream start to the season.
"He drops into the pocket and is very difficult to pick up in the no man's land. Defenders don't like to be in there and midfielders won't drop deep to mark him.
"If we can get the ball to him he will cause problems.
"He's got fantastic balance and he can pop it off on either foot. He's learning the job and getting goals as well, which is great.
"When you have the pace and ability of both James and David Foley you will cause problems at any level of the game.
"His first goal was very good. We asked him to put the ball up at the far post and he's gone past defenders to do it.
"Then he finished a good team goal, Michael Mackay gives you enormous work and he created it well. Good strikers get their goals in the six-yard box and that's what James did.''
Wilson, who takes his side to Leeds on Saturday, added: "We did play well and passed the ball well the other night, we enjoyed the performance, but will learn from it. At 3-0 up we switched off a little bit and let them score, which was disappointing, I wanted a clean sheet.
"There was a question mark at the start of the season where goals would come from, but they are coming from everywhere at the moment. Long may it continue - the strikers are looking sharp and scoring, which can only be good for confidence.''
