A LEGENDARY North-East striking partnership will team up again at St James' Park when Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand put on their boots once more.
Details of the fixture on Sunday, October 14, were revealed yesterday, along with the full squad line up for a charity match.
The Duke of Northumberland v the Earl of Durham match, sponsored by Dickinson Dees, is the last fixture in the inaugural year for The Prince's Trust Challenge Trophy 2007 to raise money for disadvantaged young people in the North-East.
Shearer said: "When Les said he'd join me up front on the day I was over the moon.
"It'll be great to be back out in front of the local fans with Les by my side, enjoying a fun day and hopefully raising a lot of money for the charity."
The pair devastated defences during the 1990s when they played for the Magpies with Kevin Keegan as manager.
They will be playing with former team-mates such as Rob Lee, David Batty, Lee Clark, Philippe Albert, John Beresford and Warren Barton for the Duke of Northumberland's side.
The Earl of Durham's team, managed by Jack Charlton, includes Gary Bennett, Paul Bracewell, Martin Scott, Gary Owers and Niall Quinn.
Ferdinand said: "It will be a momentous occasion coming back out on to the pitch at St James' Park, in front of the fans that are the best in the world and playing with some of the guys from the Keegan days again.
"I hope everyone from across the North-East picks their colours for the Duke of Northumberland or Earl of Durham's side and comes along to enjoy the day."
