NEWCASTLE striker Andy Carroll has signed a five-month loan deal with Championship side Preston.
The 18-year-old will remain at Deepdale until January, and could make his Preston debut in this evening's Carling Cup first-round clash with Morecambe.
Carroll made his senior Magpies debut in last season's UEFA Cup clash with Palermo - becoming Newcastle's youngest European performer into the bargain - and finished last season with seven substitute appearances under his belt.
