TWO-GOAL Lewis Hawkins joked he had no idea what to do after scoring his first professional goals.
A wonderful 25 yard effort put Pools level at Barnet, but after seeing the ball fly in he admitted celebrations were a new concept.
Without a goal for Pools in 30 previous outings, he ended up with two in six minutes.
"I don't think I've ever scored better at any time in my career, so to get those as my first professional goals as brilliant,’’ he said.
"I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there and said 'get in there', we had a lot of fans there, which was brilliant, and I celebrated in front of them.
"Putting us into the lead it got our spirits up and we went out second half and dictated the play.’’
A loan spell at Spennymoor earlier this season gave him a run of regular football and since being recalled he’s been part of the first-team squad at Victoria Park.
Now moved to a central midfield role after playing a few games out wide, the move to the centre of the pitch allows him to get on the ball much more.
Of his goals, the 22-year-old said: "It was my first professional goal and it could not have come any better.
"We were struggling before the goal but after that we were back in the game and played well.
"They kept us boxed in but after the goal we settled into our shape.
"It sat up perfectly and I hit it sweetly. There was a bit of movement on the ball took it past the keeper.
"I'm not sure if it dipped but it moved to the side a bit.
"I've had a lot of space on edge of box all game and I've just hung off a bit while the lads have played a good move down the right.
"Billy has set make up perfectly and I've side-footed it towards goal, with a bit of swazz.
"I thought the keeper had it but he must have soft wrists or I've put too much power on it!’’
