Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has told his players the romance of Wembley will count for nothing if they lose their Coca-Cola League Two play-off final against Shrewsbury.
The two sides meet at the new 90,000 all-seater stadium today in the first of the Football League's divisional finals over the Bank Holiday weekend.
No-one in Trollope's current squad played at the old stadium before it was demolished in 2000 and it will be Rovers' first visit to Wembley for 12 years.
A 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield in May 1995 was the last time the Pirates reached a play-off final.
Trollope, who also never played at the old stadium, has urged his side to enjoy the experience but he insists it will only be a memorable day if Rovers emerge victorious in the promotion showdown.
He said: ''Obviously, Wembley is special and it has this aura about it and going there will be a great day out for everyone associated with the club - but only if we win.
''For the supporters, it is their first trip to Wembley for some time. For the players, it is a fantastic occasion and for the staff it is great too but we want to make sure we win because if we don't then we might as well have not even made the play-offs or turned up in the first place.
''I saw a couple of games, the FA Cup final and the Conference play-off final, last weekend and it looks like a fantastic stadium.
''Playing at Wembley will be a memory that the lads will keep with them for the rest of their lives and it is a great thing for their careers because many players, myself included, never get to play at Wembley.
''They won't want that memory to be blackened by defeat and they know that just getting to this final is not enough. We are not just there for a day out whatsoever.
The League One play-off is between Blackpool and Yeovil tomorrow while West Brom face Derby on Monday in the Championship play-off.
