DANNY Wilson last night made his first signing of the summer when Coventry keeper Arran Lee-Barrett moved to Hartlepool United.
And making the move in the opposite direction is likely to be Pools No 1 Dimi Konstantopoulos.
Both keepers are out of contract this summer and with the Greek rejecting a new deal to stay, Wilson has made a swift move to sign the 23-year-old. Sheffield Wednesday's interest in Konstantopoulos appears to have cooled after they lined up a deal for Derby's Lee Grant.
With Jim Provett also offered a new deal to stay, Wilson could yet make a move for another keeper ahead of pre-season.
Lee-Barrett was recommended by the club's goalkeeping coach George Wood. He statrted out at Norwich, but moved to Cardiff - where he was coached by Wood - in April 2003 and, after a single appearance signed for Weymouth.
Born in Chertsey, Surrey, he moved to Coventry in January, but failed to displace player of the year Andy Marshall and has been released by boss Iain Dowie.
Pools are also interested in Mansfield's Alex John Baptiste. the home-grown defender was set to sign for Norwich, but is now stalling on a deals offered by both The Canaries and Mansfield after learning of Pools' interest.
Pools boss Wilson was keen on the home-grown defender during the January transfer window.
Eifion Williams, released by Hartlepool, could be a target for Darlington as the striker would prefer to stay in the area.
A number of League Two clubs are interested in securing the Welshman's services, with Quakers high on his list of preferred options.
Darlington, meanwhile, will today unveil their new kit which, manufactured by Vandanel, was voted for by supporters and will again be black and white hoops.
Quakers say the shirts, shorts and socks will be available for to buy from early next month.
A range of first-team wear will soon be stocked in the stadium shop as well as the new club shop in the Queen Street Shopping Centre, Darlington, opening June 4.
Former Darlington assistant manager Mark Proctor is the new boss of Scottish First Division side Livingston.
