Racing at Redcar will return later this month, with confirmation that the Zetland Gold Cup will go ahead as planned.
After two meetings were changed because work on a recently-constructed bend was not fully completed, chief executive Neil Etherington has confirmed the course is back on track.
The totesport.com Zetland Gold Cup will be among the highlights of its two-day meeting on Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday, May 28 and 29.
Etherington said: "With the realignment of the bend at the north side of the course we had to transfer our two early-season fixtures to allow the track more time to settle down, but I'm pleased to say we are now back in business.
"As a result of a trial gallop today we have agreed with the racing authorities that the Whit Bank Holiday meeting will go ahead.
"The only remaining restriction relates to a small area of ground on the new bend which may not have stood up too well to adverse weather and which we have agreed should immediately be replaced with an all-weather surface.
"This means that the only restrictions we will have to put in place involve not running any one-mile-three-furlong races for the foreseeable future because the work will narrow the track at the point at which stalls would have to be placed for races of this length."
The Zetland Gold Cup has been a major feature at Redcar for over 50 years and the £50,000 Heritage Handicap will be the biggest race of the day in the UK on the day.
* Connections of top-class mare Peeress are excited about the prospect of seeing the six-year-old back on the racetrack in today's Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.
In tune with previous sporting decisions by the Cheveley Park Stud, they have delayed her departure to the paddocks while she is still competing at the highest level. And her form last season showed she is certainly capable of that, with a couple of near-misses following her victory in this Group One event 12 months ago.
With conditions in her favour, she is likely to be sent off favourite.
