THEIR last victory came in the FA Cup against non-league opposition three weeks ago, and ahead of tomorrow night’s meeting with Blyth Spartans, Hartlepool United are well aware of the dangers.
Pools beat East Thurrock United 2-0 at Victoria Park last month to set up the televised tie with the Evo-Stik Premier League side from Northumberland.
Since that win, however, Pools have lost three League Two games in a row and go into the game bottom of the Football League.
Pools were beaten 3-1 at Victoria Park in their last two home games, York and then Wycombe the victors.
Blyth, with the backing of in excess of 1,200 fans, will provide a stiffer and sterner test than East Thurrock.
And Murray said: "Saturday was frustrating but we were in on Sunday and we have put that to bed now.
"We are fully focusing on getting a good result in the FA Cup and making it into the third round.
"That is all we are looking to do, me, the players and the club itself. It is a great cup tie both for us and for them.
"From our point of view our home form hasn't been great so this is another good chance to get back on track.
"It is great for the North-East that the game is on the television.
"But it is good for our players too to show everybody what they are all about, regardless of what has gone on before and how they have done.
"Now is the chance for them to show me and the rest of the country who watching what they are made of.’’
He added: "It is also a great chance to get a win, as our last one came in the last round of the cup.
"We will do our preparation, we have been working hard all week so come Friday all guns will be blazing.
"With it being a Friday night match we have had to move everything a day forward.
"We were in Sunday anyway, we needed to get that off our chests and get it out in the open and watch the DVD.
"We have drawn a line under that and got back to work on Monday.’’
