THE Football League have disqualified Massimo Cellino as Leeds United owner under its owners and directors’ test.
The board of directors of the Football League had ruled in March that Cellino was subject to a disqualifying condition after he was found guilty of an offence relating to the non-payment of import duties on a boat, which resulted in a 600,000 Euros fine.
However, Cellino had successfully appealed against the disqualification in April at a hearing of the Professional Conduct Committee.
However, the board considered the judgement of the Italian courts against Cellino after receiving full details of the case, and having considered legal advice, they unanimously agreed that Cellino is subject to a disqualifying condition under the terms of the test.
Cellino can appeal the decision within 14 days.
