Spennymoor Town are into the first round draw of the FA Trophy after sweeping aside Chasetown 3-0 in the final qualifying round on Saturday.
Moors were too strong for their Evo-Stik First Division South opponents, with the only complaint being the hosts’ failure to build on their 3-0 half-time scoreline.
Goals from Gavin Cogdon and Nathan Fisher in quick succession put Spennymoor into a 2-0 lead.
Moors deservedly went ahead on 14 minutes when Lewis Dodds found Anthony Peacock on the left, and even though the winger had a shot blocked, the ball came out to the right for Cogdon to squeeze home.
Then Stephen Capper crossed from the left for Fisher to chest the ball down on the six yard line and volley home.
And the third came on 40 minutes when Dodds split the defence with a through-ball for fellow Shane Henry to hit first time effort under the advancing goalkeeper.
The draw takes place on Monday lunchtime and Moors could be drawn against one of the Conference Premier big guns.
Spennymoor: McHugh, Griffiths, Mason, Dodds, Tait, Capper, McReady, Henry, Fisher (Ward 65), Cogdon (Roberts 63), Peacock (Green 79) Subs (not used): Johnson, Stephenson
