ALBERT ADOMAH and Lee Tomlin are fit to face Wolves tomorrow night, but Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka has revealed Adam Clayton could miss out through injury.
Tomlin was forced off at half time in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Brighton with a leg injury, while Adomah suffered cramp in the latter stages at the Amex Stadium.
Both have recovered in time to be part of the squad that travels to Molineux tomorrow, but Clayton is likely to sit out after suffering a head injury.
Dean Whitehead is likely to play alongside Grant Leadbitter in Clayton’s place, while Karanka also gave an update on Jonathan Woodgate’s injury.
The defender is still 2-3 weeks away from a return, but Kenneth Omeruo is back in the squad after returning from international duty on Friday.
The Teessiders can stretch their unbeaten run to eight games against Wolves, but despite seeing Kenny Jackett’s side let a 3-0 lead slip in the draw against Millwall, Karanka is expecting a tough test.
“It’s going to be a completely different game to Brighton,” the Boro boss said. “I think the intensity will be higher. Wolves play in a similar way to us. They are a typical Championship team with a lot of intensity and very good players. It will be tough for us.
“It’s a good time to be play them, because we are playing well and with confidence. If we play the way we are now then we can do something, but it’s always the same. We must not go there thinking we can win without playing well.
“They were winning 3-0 on Saturday and it’s difficult to understand a result like that, but that is the Championship. Anything can happen in this league.”
