SUNDERLAND will travel to either Brighton or Hull City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Black Cats' reward for beating Southampton on Saturday is a trip to either the Amex Stadium or KC Stadium on the weekend of March 8-9.
The identity of their opponents could be revealed tomorrow evening, with Brighton hosting Hull in their fifth-round tie.
Today's draw ended a run of eight succesive home draws for Sunderland in this season's cup competitions, but still offers a decent opportunity of a second trip to Wembley.
If Brighton win tomorrow, Gustavo Poyet will return to the Amex Stadium for the first time since leaving the Seagulls in controversial circumstances last summer.
If Hull progress to the quarter-finals, Sunderland will line up against the former manager Steve Bruce, who engineered a 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light earlier this month.
FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL DRAW:
Arsenal or Liverpool vs Everton
Brighton or Hull vs SUNDERLAND
Sheff United or Nottm Forest vs Sheff Wed or Charlton
Man City vs Wigan
(Games to be played on the weekend of March 8-9)
