NEWCASTLE UNITED are holding Arsenal at the break in the final Premier League match of the season at St James' Park.
In a half of few chances, Newcastle could easily have been in front had Hatem Ben Arfa's run and shot been on target.
The highlight was not a football one, with goalkeeper Steve Harper reduced to tears in his penalty area after a touching minute's applause for the long-serving goalkeeper in the 37th minute.
The No 37 has been named captain for the game, which is his final appearance for the club he has served for 20 years.
As things stand the Gunners would still finish fourth ahead of Tottenham in the race for the final Champions League spot.
