YORKSHIRE lost openers Adam Lyth and Joe Sayers inside three overs to take the shine off a good second morning against Warwickshire at Edgbaston today.
The pair shared a watchful 77, but both fell in the last 15 minutes before lunch as the White Rose reached 80-2 from 35 overs replying to 128.
There have been signs of uneven bounce, but not as much swing today as there was yesterday.
Lyth was livid when he cut Irishman Boyd Rankin’s second ball to Tom Milnes at point on 43 before Sayers edged behind in the Irishman’s second over for 24.
Lyth was handed a life on 41 when he was dropped at point by a diving Milnes after cutting Rikki Clarke, a carbon copy of the dismissal. Phil Jaques and Andrew Gale will resume this afternoon on three and nought respectively.
Tim Bresnan, having been left out of England’s Test team at Lord’s, will replace Rich Pyrah in the Yorkshire line-up this afternoon.
