GARY Ballance and Adil Rashid have been central to an excellent Yorkshire recovery against Somerset at Headingley during the first afternoon.
The White Rose have bounced back strongly from a bit of strife at 71-4, reaching 194-4 from 64 overs at tea.
They have shared an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 119 inside 41 overs, 110 of which have come between lunch and tea via some entertaining strokeplay on both sides of the wicket in good batting conditions.
Somerset, who were excellent this morning, have looked flat this afternoon as they chase a first win of the season.
Ballance reached his third fifty of the season off 104 balls, and is 62 not out. Rashid will resume this evening on 45.
