JASON Steele was a double winner at Middlesbrough's official end-of-season awards evening.
The goalkeeper, who played in all 46 of Boro's Championship matches and cemented himself in Stuart Pearce's England under-21 team over the course of the last nine months, was named both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
Full-back George Friend claimed the Players' Player of the Year award after an impressive maiden campaign on Teesside following a switch from Doncaster Rovers last summer.
Head of recruitment Ron Bone picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award to mark the huge impact he has been made since he was appointed by Bruce Rioch as a scout in 1988.
Bone has been Boro's head of youth development since 1990 and, alongside Dave Parnaby, helped establish the Rockliffe Park academy that has proved one of the most successful breeding grounds in the country.
