STEVE Howard has left Hartlepool United to join Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
Howard, who has scored three goals in 30 starts for Pools this season, has swapped one relegation battle for another, albeit at a higher level.
Wednesday are currently sitting in 21st position in the Championship, a point and a place above the relegation zone, and veteran striker Howard will be available for Saturday's home game with Barnsley.
