TIME is fast running out for Hartlepool United, but Evan Horwood is out to make the most of it.

Their latest 0-0 draw, against Walsall at Victoria Park on Saturday, dumped them bottom of the table.

Ahead of an Easter double header against MK Dons and Stevenage, Pools sit six points short of safety, although Oldham have three games in hand and a superior goal difference.

Despite their situation, Horwood said: "We're back on the bottom but you have to look at the positives. We can't go any lower, we have to climb again.

"We can still do it - stranger things have happened in football.

"You talk to people around the town, my friends and family and they say they just want to see more fight. That's what we have to do for the rest of the season.''

He added: "A lot of people thought we'd be down by Christmas so we've got to keep going until the end and try to put some pride into the club.

"It was a bad dressing-room after the Oldham game - I think that was the worst I've ever felt.

"We're unbeaten since January at home and so you have to look at the positives.

"The amount of times we have come off the pitch this season and thought the opposition haven't been great.

"A lot of games are a fine line.

"But the bottom line is we haven't been good enough over the course of the whole season and we deserve to be where we are.''
