LAST week I was informed by letter that the Cockerton branch of Barclays is closing in January.

Having banked with Barclays for 50 years I have seen the Albert Road branch close and now Cockerton.

Now I will have no choice, but to visit the main High Row branch – the only one for the whole of Darlington.

The fat cat bankers can find massive bonuses for themselves but seemingly can’t find money to keep branches open for their loyal customers.

I will have to travel to the town centre then find and pay for parking (if I am lucky). They have no regard for the elderly or disabled or other loyal customers.

This dictatorial attitude on behalf of banks leaves me most frustrated. Personal banking, what is that? A thing of the past I think.
