ALEX SALMOND, the Scottish First Minister, and the Scottish National Party wish for their country to break away from the United Kingdom.
They have agreed to a referendum giving Scottish people their say on the topic.
Mr Salmond wants 16 and 17 year olds to vote in the referendum. He is convinced that this will help ensure victory for him – believing that this is what the younger generation crave.
To be absolutely and categorically certain that Scotland gains independence, Mr. Salmond should include the English in the referendum.
Bobby Meynell, Stockton.
