THE Northern Echo’s recent interview with David Cameron suggested the North-East was toxic to the Tories, but surely this is back-to-front, it is the Tories who are toxic to the North-East.

Plans for regional pay and benefits (despite the Prime Minister’s denials and obfuscation) will be the final drop of poison that renders a party dominated by millionaire ex-public schoolboys from the south-east unelectable in this region.

Northern conservatives now need to question where their loyalties lie.

They could do worse than consider the newly formed People’s Democratic Party, a party of the centre in touch with the people and untainted by years of unpopularity. Find out more at pdpgb.org.uk.
