I BELIEVE VJ Connor to be quite misguided in his comments about William Hague resembling the martians from the Cadburys Smash adverts.
Leaving aside obvious arguments about which of them speaks the greater sense, it has always been clear to me that Mr Hague is the Mekon – arch enemy of Dan Dare in Eagle and 2000AD comic.
The Mekon was the tyrannical ruler of Venus so the idea that Mr Hague is from Mars is clearly silly.
