I WISH people like the North Durham MP Kevan Jones would keep their noses out of the future of Durham Tees Valley Airport (Echo, Oct 2).
The inhabitants of the Tees Valley are fed up with politicians from other areas ranting on about our local airport.
Leave the decision-making to the Darlington, Stockton and Middlesbrough councils. We know they will always fight for the airport’s future.
As for Mr Jones, stick to the welfare of your own local airport – people in Tees Valley have no interest in what you have to say.
Teesside needs its airport and its future should not be planned around cargo flights and aircraft maintenance. A better option would be to go back to its old name of Teesside Airport. Then attract airlines like Easy Jet and Ryan Air which can offer more European destinations.
It really is that simple.
