IN this time of cost cutting and general despondency at austerity measures, it is nice to know that when an urgent request goes to Durham County Council on a potential highways safety issue that officers respond promptly.
They erected a traffic sign indicating the temporary entrance to the new Whitworth Park School and Sixth Form College, in Spennymoor, while building work is in progress within 24 hours.
It’s good to see such a speedy response to an important issue.
I would like to say a big thank you for their efforts.
Councillor Liz Maddison, Spennymoor Ward
