WATCHING the last episode of Inspector George Gently on BBC 1 last Sunday (Sept 16) I was shocked to see a shoot out take in Durham Cathedral.
The subsequent scene was something like the Gunfight At The OK Corral.
Are the authorities in charge of one of our most venerated places of worship hoping to turn the cathedral into part of the George Gently film trail?
It was a disappointing letdown in what has otherwise been a great television show filmed in the North-East.
I only hope the powers that be from the cathedral can give us a satisfactory answer as to why it was allowed.
