POLITICS often defies logic. It certainly challenges the moral boundaries.
There are those who exploit power. The recent cabinet reshuffle is evidence of this.
One commentator referred to ministers as being like “repertory actors who can mug up to any script on the night”.
The difference is, of course, that actors have the ability to transform a character and improvise with effect. The person they are playing is not themselves but a role.
Ministers have a key role to play, one they are supposed to perform with honesty and integrity, but I am afraid the perception is that too often they are aren’t really up to it.
Shuffling the same old cards is a deflection from the real issues.
