REGARDING Jeremy Clarkson’s ill-timed remarks about public sector strikes (Echo, Dec 2).

This man continues to make opinionated comments on whoever he chooses and then thinks by saying sorry it is okay.

It isn’t.

The people taking action to protect their future pensions and standard of living don’t have the luxury of the inflated salary he has.

If he thinks his comments are not to be taken seriously, he shouldn’t make them in the first place. He has a disgusting sense of humour.

The BBC are no better. Sorry is only a word with little or no meaning to these people.

I don’t pay my TV licence to pay the likes of Clarkson and others, who think they can say, do and act as they like. They think they are above the law. I never watch Top Gear, and I would urge all those who protested to do the same.

The ratings will soon drop and the BBC will sit up and take notice. Better programmes are being axed to protect high salaries.

Clarkson seems to get his adrenaline working by making insulting remarks. This is only one of many and he should be made to pack up or shut up.

It couldn’t happen to a more despicable person.
