THE Government has never been concerned about saving hardworking households’ money.
Until now, that is.
It says if it retains the 50p top bracket of tax it could end up costing every UK household an extra £30-a-year.
They say by keeping the 50p tax rate will force wealthy earners to flee for pastures new, leaving others to pick up the shortfall.
Where will these high earners go to maintain their lavish lifestyle? France and Germany have tax rates of almost 50 per cent and, as for Greece and Portugal, who on earth would take their business there?
For those who think paying a 50p rate on earnings over £150,000 is just a little too harsh, they can always go and take their business to Jersey, the tax squirrel capital of the British Isles Along with all those Jersey cows I am sure they will feel more at home milking the system.
