REGARDING Ricky Butler’s letter about Christopher Wardell being a pseudonym of a journalist at The Northern Echo (HAS, Nov 17) I wholeheartedly agree with his sentiments.

I would also include Bernie Walsh with his incessant ramblings and pontifications on a variety of subjects of which he blatantly knows nothing about.

Surely, you are not so deprived of more interesting and sensible correspondence that you are compelled to publish such drivel as these two submit?

Any regular reader will soon, like me, discover the knack of “switching off” whenever the names of these two correspondents appear and try to focus on the more intelligent and topical issues that your more discerning readers would like to see.
