WITH an increasing number of public houses closing due to declining trade, a recent Eating Out article by Nigel Burton (Echo, Nov 14) highlights the unique English approach to this problem with many deciding to lose a day’s takings and close on Mondays (Bank Holidays included).
One once-thriving business in our locality decided to refine this approach. When they began to really struggle on six days’ takings, they decided to close on Fridays as well.
The premises are now derelict.
