I DID not see the letter by Susan Willis regarding homosexuals (HAS, Oct 22) but have read several of the responses, including the editor's. Hear All sides is, indeed, an ingenious title for readers' letters, as Harry Mead wrote in his column (Echo, Nov 2).

Clearly Ms Willis expressed a controversial view of homosexuality.

But Steve Drayton (HAS, Nov 2) is not justified in calling her a bigot merely because he does not share her point of view.

He is also wrong to compare her distaste for the homosexual act, as many have, with a racial prejudice against blacks or Asians.

Castleton.
