REGARDING the letter by Gary McTeer (HAS, Oct 31) defending Susan Willis's right to an opinion about homosexuality. Mr McTeer writes: "To everyone who wrote in condemning the letter, I’d like to say: Hear All Sides means exactly that." But this cuts both ways.
While we have the right to express our opinions, when we use it we should expect others to use the same right to criticise and question our opinions.
When people do so they aren't trying to silence our views or impose one opinion over another. Their actions are part of a process started by our comments. We can’t expect people to remain silent if the desired outcome isn't what we wanted.

I WAS pleased that Peter Barron clarified the publishing of the letter from Susan Willis regarding homosexuality.
I find homosexuality distasteful, but if they want to engage in these acts out of sight and mind, well they can get on with it.
These days as a married man with children, I am now made to feel in the minority.
