THE clocks go back this weekend, heralding the start of another cold winter and with a recent Which? survey showing that energy prices are the number one financial concern for consumers, it's more important than ever to ensure that your household is on the most cost effective energy tariff for its needs.
To coincide with National Energy Saving week, 24th -28th October 2011, Which? is encouraging people to check that they are on the most suitable tariff for them.
We found that the average energy bill in the North East of England is £1,282.
However, it only takes ten minutes to check if you're on the best tariff. With the average annual saving by dual fuel customers who switched with Which? Switch - which.co.uk/switch or 01992-822867 - last year standing at £237, it may be the most fruitful ten minutes you spend online this winter.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about the weather, but you could save yourself hundreds of pounds a year by switching energy supplier.
Tom McLennan,
Head of Switching, Which?
