THE Liam Fox story has certainly revealed the secret world of the facilitators, the oilers of wheels and the greasers of palms. One reads that Adam Werrity was a defence consultant and director of obscure defence firms of whose purpose we no nothing.
However, when Liam Fox was shadow health secretary, Adam Werrity was a health consultant and director of equally obscure firms with health connections.
So much for David Cameron’s boasts before the election of cleaning up the murky side of politics.
Politicians of all parties have a long way to go before transparency is the norm.

THE departure of Liam fox as Defence Secretary will make no difference to the defence structure of our country.
This is proved by placing the Minister of Transport, who knows very little about defence, in the job. He cannot even get our trains to run on time.
Ministers are only figure heads, it is the civil servants who have, and always will, run the country. That is why the head of the civil service is paid more than the Prime Minister.
