I VISITED Middlesbrough’s Institute of Modern Art recently and what I saw astounded me – and not for the first time. One exhibit was a picture of naked woman with the head of Minnie Mouse on it.
Another was a large exhibit covering all aspects of rape, including knives and rope etc, while a third was a photo of a woman with a fork about to penetrate one eye and a spoon covering the other.
They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder – not in this case as she was about to be blinded.
All this and more for “only” £1.4m a year to the tax payers of Middlesbrough – hardly a great return.
Joan McTigue, Middlesbrough.
