BERNIE WALSH makes some excellent points in his letter about multiculturalism (HAS, Sept 6).

I think the problem with people like John Cleese and Jeremy Clarkson is that multiculturalism is an easy target.

I do wonder just how many people would really like to get rid of multicultural Britain.

It would be like going back to the early Fifties.

I think that because the British people are basically tolerant and open-minded, it can be argued that multiculturalism has actually been a great success in our country.

I agree with Bernie Walsh that we basically live a multicultural world. The key to it is to make it work. The great achievement of Mo Farah at the World Athletics Championship shows how easily that can be done.
