CARERS in Redcar and Cleveland need all the support they can get.
And they certainly don’t get it from this Labour council, which was recently slammed by independent inspectors for its care services.
The report last year concluded that the council was performing poorly in safeguarding adults and that it was not certain whether it had the ability to improve.
The report also said that leadership was inadequate and that the department had been slow to address issues of quality of care and lack of dignity for clients.
Most scandalously, the report found that proper respect was not always shown to older people.
Labour councillors really need to get their own house in order.
Coun Madge Moses, Liberal Democrats.
