I LIVE on a housing estate in Bishop Auckland that has been plagued with anti-social-behaviour for just over three years.
During this time the estate has been transformed from a decent, respectable area to something that resembles a ghetto, with graffiti, discarded rubbish and constant loud, disgusting, foul language.
The perpetrators of this behaviour have been repeatedly reported to the necessary authorities, but all intervention has proved useless.
We constantly hear that “our hands are tied”, “we have to tread very carefully” or “there is not a great deal can be done”.
Our anti-social-behaviour officers have recently had a quiet word to inform a family of the distress they are causing the residents of our estate. Well, that’s that sorted then.
