ON Sunday, I took my two youngest daughters, aged three and one, to the Locomotion railway museum, in Shildon, to meet their favourite TV characters, Peppa and George Pig.
After a very hot wait of nearly three hours, the girls were very excited because, finally, there were only five people in front of us in the queue.
They could actually see Peppa Pig.
Suddenly, Peppa turned and walked – almost ran – away. An official told us that Peppa was too hot and we couldn’t meet her after all.
How do I explain that to a three-year-old?
There were more than 100 people behind us in the queue and all of them were upset, confused and angry.
When we complained, we were offered a free train ticket home, but we had already purchased a return ticket.
I feel the whole thing hadn’t been planned to take into account the hot weather that had been forecast.
My three-year-old cried all the way home and now thinks that Peppa doesn’t like her.
I give the museum 0 out of 10 for customer service and 10 out of 10 for mental cruelty.
