I FOUND Peter Mullen’s article on euthanasia very interesting (Echo, June 21).
As a Christian, I believe that human life is precious and a person’s right to live should be defended and protected from their conception until their natural death.
We are always hearing horror stories of how people were killed against their will, or mistreated in countries where euthanasia is legal.
I don’t believe that artificially prolonging life when it is clear that the person will not recover is an alternative, but ending it prematurely, for whatever reason, should never be considered as an act of kindness or compassion.
Was it kind of the Nazis to try to wipe out all of the disabled people in Germany? They were suffering, after all.
