REGARDING Ken Clarke’s attempt to halve prison sentences, why not turn the plan around and double the tariff for those who plead not guilty and are convicted?
It only seems fair to make this proposal as, after all, it would only mean serving the sentence the original mandate required.
There doesn’t seem to be any punishment for perjury.
