I AM sorry if councillor Bill Dixon is “sick” of council tax payers “harping” on about the town centre (Echo, May 28).
Recently, our town centre has experienced a bus collision, a bus shelter demolition and only last week, a lorry crashed into the bollards near Crown Street, resulting in a piece of metal just missing a pedestrian.
John Williams is also reported as thinking that the elderly and parents with children feel safer crossing our town centre roads now.
I have to ask just how he hasn’t noticed the danger posed by buses along High Row?
Cross at your own risk to avoid a bus – there should be a large sign outside Waterstone’s.
P Rees, Darlington.
