I UNDERSTAND that Tim Henman is being paid £14,000 a day to “assist” with the BBC commentary at Wimbledon.
While this beggars belief, it makes one wonder how much the regular commentators are being paid for their stints at the microphone.
With this in mind, I shall be cutting my nose off to spite my face and turning the volume off on our TV when the tennis is on.
I take one crumb of comfort from my protest – at least I won’t have to listen to all those dreadful grunts, screams and raucous sounds when players hit the ball.
Geoff Gregg, Tursdale.
