THIS week is National Volunteers Week and, as we celebrate our 25th year of providing care for North-East children, young people and adults with life-limiting conditions, I would like to say a big thank-you to all of our volunteers for their dedication and hard work.
Outnumbering paid staff four-toone, our volunteers really are the life force which drives our organisation. They come from all walks of life and all age groups.
With the help of our volunteers, we are able to raise the £6.5m we need to keep our services free and available to all families in need.
On behalf of myself, the staff and all those who directly benefit from care at St Oswald’s, thank you, we are greatly indebted to you all.
James Ellam, Chief Executive, St Oswald’s Hospice.
